Athens Aikikai students practice Iai Batto-Ho as a strong compliment to their Aikido training and it can also be studied in the dojo as an Art in its own right. Through the study of Iai Batto-Ho and through constant repetition of the forms students reach a new understanding of their own body and its relation to the sword.
A high level of concentration and self-study is required and despite its seemingly calm appearance Iai Batto-Ho can be highly demanding both physically and mentally and thus the student strengthens these abilities.
Iaido is firmly rooted in ancient Japanese culture and through its study one becomes all the more aware of this connection and this understanding slowly filters through into daily Aikido practice.
